CAMP InSight is an internal magazine published monthly by CAMP Systems International and circulated to its 3,000+ customers who collectively operate, own and manage the over 5,400 aircraft on CAMP’s maintenance tracking system.
InSight to the Past with Giacinta Bradley Koontz will appear in six issues which began in March 2008. The column offers aviation history filled with odd and unusual anecdotal facts guaranteed to both amuse as well as instill renewed pride in the men and women pioneers of flight. Each article is accompanied by a vintage photograph from Koontz’s “scrapbook” collection.
In the March 2008 issue, VP of Customer Support for CAMP, Rich Anzalone welcomed Koontz with the following remarks:
Not only does the month of March bring spring with it, but it also boasts of a new bi-monthly feature in CAMP InSight. I would like to introduce “Insight to the Past with Giacinta Bradley Koontz” and extend a warm welcome to InSight’s newest columnist. Giacinta is a respected aviation historian and author. Focusing on early American aviation, she has a flare for capturing both the story and her audience. Giacinta imparts, “I write about the anecdotal and human interest aspects of aviation history instead of the nuts and bolts. I’m interested in those “small stories” of the men and women whose passion for flying or building or repairing an aeroplane made them different from the rest of the earth-bound world.”
“Insight to the Past” can be found on page 19. Giacinta’s biography can be read on the page prior. Enjoy!
